Controversy Regarding Film Music in Period Films

This is my first blog and my first write up release. I am a good listener of any type of music like hindi film music of 50's, when music directors like Naushad, Shankar-Jaikishen and others were at their best, Pop music of 90's , ghazal singing of singers like Ghulam Ali, Mehndi Hassan, Jagjit Singh.

Controversies had always been there regarding the compositions being inspired / copied / not matching with the period in which the stories of the film were told.

Recently when 'Jodha Akbar' was released, people criticized the music , even it was well composed by AR Rehman.

Even the music by Naushad, and others, were composed only inline with the music and musical instruments, in use in 50's. And it might not be matching with the music and music instruments being used in the period films, stories of which were based on the history dating back to 16th-19th century.

So, instead of going into controversies , we should listen and enjoy good music.
